What Makes a Monk Mad

More opportunities for political action in San Francisco:

Monday, October 1, noon, Justin Herman Plaza: walking meditation and
walk to United Nations Plaza.
This will be a nonviolent public walk in solidarity with the Burma
uprising, their hopes, and their losses.
Please distribute widely, and please come.
Wear red.

Details: Spirit Rock will again bring red cloth for people to wear,
and Mona Caron's huge drawing of the watching eyes of the Buddha,
drawn in front of the Chinese Consulate Friday, will be there as a
banner. Bring signs.

The BBC News announced that China is beginning to ask Burma for a
nonviolent, democratic resolution--which means that the pressure is
working and must be kept up.

Images of the Friday action were posted on Facebook by a young
Burmese-American activist whose new Burma rights site has attracted
170,000 visitors this week.

The Burmese community in San Francisco was grateful for our presence,
and the people of Burma will hear that they are seen and supported.
